Westerns are not usually a genre that I enjoy but there was something about the cover of THE BOUNTY HUNTER that drew me in. This is neither a short story nor a long book but the story line is interesting and engaging from the first page to the last. While the introduction of each character doesn't go into great detail, the reader quickly learns the important details about each person along with the how and why they are an important part of this tale of good triumphing over evil. The characters are real and for the most part likable. I did want to slap the heroine a couple of times and tell her to grow up, but that's normal for me. I particularly liked the author's judicious use of descriptive prose for scenery and characters. Most authors go overboard describing a beautiful mountain or the sky at sunset simply to pad their word count. Ms. Rose wisely and briefly tells you what you need to know to set the scene, so you can get on with the story. THE BOUNTY HUNTER is an easy and enjoyable read with a highly satisfying ending that will leave you wanting to read more titles from Elizabeth Rose.Product details

Killian McCree is a bounty hunter who catches criminals and sees them hang. He has just caught and delivered Benjamin East wanted for stealing and murder during a stagecoach heist. Killian doesn't know but his fate is going to stare him in the eyes. A young boy, with haunting eyes helps Benjamin East escape the gallows while stealing Killian's own horse. Rena East helps her older brother, Benjamin, escape the hangman's noose for a crime he didn't commit. After losing their parents, all they have is each other, leaving Rena bound to see her brother free and the real culprits brought to justice. This book was an exciting and compelling story of love. Not just the love between a man and a woman, but the love between siblings and how far each person would go to protect the one's that they love. I found this story easily compelling and once I started reading it I found it hard to stop. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed if you choose to purchase and read this book.
I love westerns and the premise drew me in. This is the first book I've read by Elizabeth Rose and I am looking forward to reading more. She captured the Old West with a descriptive and believable setting. Rena dresses as a boy and helps her brother, who is falsely convicted of murder, escape the gallows. Now she has the bounty hunter on her tail!
I felt connected to the spunky heroine and the hero who is surprisingly a bounty hunter. While this was a clean romance I did feel the sparks building at the end of the story and had wished it was a bit longer to show more of the budding romance.
Fast paced with plenty of action. Another great read from Elizabeth Rose. I'm not a big Western fan but I really enjoyed her Greek Myth series and her Medieval series so I thought I'd give this one a try. Now I'm hooked! Novellas are great if you want something quick to satisfy your reading itch, but like all of Ms. Rose's characters, I wanted Rena and Killian to hang around a little longer. Maybe she will bring them back for a sequel. Hope so!
I absolutely love this author, Elizabeth Rose. She writes several genres including western, fantasy, Scottish, etc... If you ever want a good afternoon read to escape into just choose Elizabeth Rose. FANTASTIC!
This book, The Bounty Hunter, has a feisty heroine, Rena, who poses as a boy to save her brother from the gallows. She asks for trouble to follow when she steals the hero's horse. Imagine escaping back into time and watching romance unfold, which is what this author offers.

Killian McCree is a bounty hunter who brings in a criminal only to have him stolen from the gallows. Then he finds out a woman, Rena East, is also wanted and the reward being offered is twice the bounty of the other criminals. I really enjoyed this Western romance. The characters were portrayed wonderfully, and I really got the feeling of being in the old west. I'd highly recommend The Bounty Hunter to anyone, as well as The Outlaw, another of Ms. Rose's short western stories.
Author, Elizabeth Rose, struck gold, with this delightful Novelette! A fast paced western, that has an easy flow from start to finish! I especially loved getting to know the two main characters; Rena East and 'handsome as sin' Bounty Hunter, Killian McCree. Theirs is a quick-witted, smart and sexy relationship! The Bounty Hunter is one part Suspense and one part Romance! It will keep you on the edge of your bar stool, until the very last dusty trail marked page! Like a long tall glass of Sarsaparilla, you will thoroughly enjoy this read!
