Throughout this tasty tale of obsession and betrayal, some of Casey’s most appealing qualities are on spirited display—she’s hot, she’s hilarious, and she’s so headstrong her quasi-boss Bobby D. can only shake his massive head and do as the lady says. The hot and hilarious parts go hand-in-hand as the plus-size detective fantasizes her way through a small army of possible inamoratos, now and then anointing one or another, although always off the page and always accompanied by a wisecrack or three.

BAD TO THE BONE is a rowdy, action-packed adventure with humor, romance, and hard-boiled mayhem aplenty, but its two greatest delights are its vivid antagonists, the big-hearted, tough PI and the petite, pernicious femme fatale, locked in a catfight that should have its own arena.

Loads of action, mystery and jammed with enough violence make a entertaining book of a sassy and bad tailed illegal PI who gets more than her man!
I finished the story and it was ok, but not a stand out. Maybe too many characters. I wasn't crazy about Casey. Couldn't relate to her way of thinking.
This was the second book I have read in this series (Legwork being the other one), but I think there were other books between these. I've just had enough of Casey. She hasn't kept my interest, I don't care that much about her and she is just too "out there" for me. The writing and descriptions are fine, the story was believable and interesting, but I can't bring myself to pay money for any more books in the series. (I found this free as I search often and "buy" free on a regular basis.) I also wouldn't bother to download any more free ones.
I enjoyed getting to know Casey Jones. She likes to think she is hard boiled. But under it all she does have a heart. Lots of interesting and odd characters with action and twists I was not expecting. I will read more.
Ms. Katy Munger is a artist with her stories. I wouldn't want Casey's life but she has a good moral heart. She has her vices and is one tough private eye. There is so many ways to connect with the main character. Once, I start reading, I can not stop.
There is some bad language in this book, but it doesn't seem to be out of place or overwhelming. There are crude comments as well. The sex happens between paragraphs or chapters. If any of these bother you, you probably don't want to read this book, anyway. That being said, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who isn't bothered by a bit of those things.
Munger brings Casey Jones to life as a larger than life, baldy, babe with a knack for tracking down the clues. You will love this well written book with laugh out loud dialogue and in your face antics. The characters are complex and well defined and will make you want to pick up the next in the series.
I highly recommend this book to fans of the mystery/suspense genre.
